Feliz Ano Nuevo

La Cruz Anchorage, Nayarit, Mexico
January 1, 2010

Wow! We moved aboard CAPAZ one year ago today. We have also been been away from Seattle for four months now!
New Years in Banderas Bay is really quite an experience. Since our friends who live here had never seen the New Year's Eve fireworks show from the water and an old friend was visiting from Seattle, we decided to take Capaz south the Puerto Vallarta waterfront. We enjoyed dinner and wine while we took our time getting south to where the action was heating up. We had plenty of time to learn a new domino game called Mexican Train. As the Giffords opted for a quieter night of celebration on the anchor off La Cruz, we can hardly wait to teach it to them.
All the resorts in Puerto Vallarta and also just to the north in Nuevo Vallarta set off fireworks. At one point, we counted 15 different fireworks displays that we could see from our vantage point. Finally, since La Cruz is on the other side of the time zone line, as we approached the marina on our way back from downtown, we were treated to yet another show as Nayarit rung in the New Year. We reached the dock around 2:00am PV time and Bryce was thrilled to still be awake!
On behalf of the crew of Capaz, Feliz Ano Nuevo wishing everyone peace, health and happiness in 2010!
